Professor in Education Research and Internationalization at
Centre for Education Policy Research,
Aalborg University, Denmark
Research profile
My research field emerges in the intersections between comparative education, history of education, sociology of education and policy research. In particular, my focus is on assessment, accountability, and inclusive education in combination with international organizations - especially the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). I have evolved this platform into also encompassing the role of experts and professionals in handling “the other” in (a welfare) society along with an understanding of the interactions between the transnational, national and local in education policy and practice.
Main contributions
Developing the concept of 'governing complex' which captures the interconnectedness and complexities of an organized structure made up of entities, that is, organizations, authorities, agents, technologies, discourses, and materialities, as well as the knowledge, data, and evidence floating between these parts.
